![]() ![]() ![]() It would be nice to have a few more packages pre-installed in SteamOS. So having some important packages pre-installed and being part of SteamOS would things much easier. It's possible to install those packages via pacman by deactivating the read-only mode but are probably gone after a new SteamOS update. Specific Windows archives are downloaded through scripts like the one mentioned above and can not be extracted and installed without cabextract. Scripts like these often use Python3 and, though this can be changed in the script file to Python which SteamOS has installed, there is no need to make things harder than it should be, right? Another important package is cabextract. You can read about it here:įurthermore, you can also get the videos working in Darksiders by using the script. įor example, I was able to get the game "Clan N" working fine on Steam Deck with the help of the mentioned script. Reason for this is that, it often helps to get games or parts of them working through using/installing scripts like the one from here. For instance, the package cabextra to extract Windows specific archives (.cab) or something like Python3.
